What is an ICO?

ICO stands for “Initial Coin Offering” and it is a means of raising crypto-capital through a public campaign by distributing tokens to the contributors. A digital asset or token is issued for a specific purpose with platform utility in mind. After the ICO process is done, the tokens may be used in a platform or traded on crypto-exchanges, with market supply and demand deciding on its fair value.

Why are you starting with a Pre-ICO?

The purpose of our Pre-ICO round is to ascertain community interest regarding our platform and obtain pre-seed funds for our aggressive marketing strategy plan. This will allow us to avoid traditional venture capital funding, and still obtain the some leverage before launching our full-blown ICO.

What is Blockchain?

Blockchain is a decentralised distributed ledger technology which accurately records and stores data and information into ‘blocks’. Each block is then linked and secured using mathematical game theory and cryptography. Through this process, a decentralised and incorruptible ledger is created through an open source peer-to-peer network.
What is Ethereum?

Both bitcoin, and Ethereum are distributed blockchain networks. Ethereum is an open source platform based on blockchain technology. Its primary focus is to allow people to create and deploy decentralised applications.

What is a ERC-20 Token?

In its simplest form, ECR-20 Tokens are assets which are built on the Ethereum platform.

What is a Smart Contract?

Smart contracts are a way to facilitate exchange anything of value through a self operating program that will execute under specified conditions. As smart contracts are built on the blockchain, they will run as programmed thus making them immutable from censorship, manipulation and fraud.

Where are you based and what is your legal structure?

Hedge Coin Capital is incorporated in Australia, with our engineering operations being based in Asia & America, and advisors and collaborators from all over the world, including USA, China, & Singapore. We wholeheartedly respect the law in all locations we operate and abide by their laws and regulations.

What exchanges are going to list HCL Tokens?

At present, we are unable to post a guaranteed list of all exchanges we will be listed on, as contract negotiations are underway with multiple parties. HCL will appear on several exchanges around September 2018.

Will my unit in the fund have a published valuation? When will this be updated?

The NAV (net asset value) of each unit in the funds will have live prices in the phone app or website when you log into the HCC platform.

If I am an Australian or US Citizen, can I participate in the ICO?
Unfortunately, Australian and US citizens and residents are not allowed to participate in the ICO due to Australia and US Security Law restrictions. We wholeheartedly respect all country laws in all locations we operate, and urge you to obtain more information regarding specific financial laws in your jurisdiction. You can participate in the ICO if you are neither an Australian or U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Australia or the United States, nor have a primary residence or domicile in the United States, including Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and any other territories of the United States.
Once the ICO has been completed, Hedge Coin Capital will accept private and institutional investors from any country, including Australia and the US.

I want to participate in your ICO. Can I contribute with fiat currency (eg. USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, RMB)?

Unfortunately, we can only accept contributions in ETH for the ICO. In the future, we plan to accept other cryptocurrencies into our platform exchange.

Is there a minimum investment stake?

Yes, our current minimum investment stake is set at 1.0 ETH.

Is there a maximum investment stake?

Not at present. If you plan on contributing a significant amount we encourage you to contact us directly before the round opens, as we have a limited percentage pre-allocated for private backers.

What’s the advantage of purchasing early in the Pre-ICO?

Purchasing in the earlier rounds yields significantly lower prices per token as well as higher numbers of bonus coins. Please refer to the offering table above for details.

What’s the benefits of the smartphone app?

The smartphone app will allow you to monitor and check your portfolio and investments at all times on the go, as well as sell and buy HCL coins at the convenience of your fingertips. Investors will also be able to change their fund and redeem their investment.

What is the circulating and total supply of the HCL coin?

The total maximum supply of HCL is 136,000,000 coins. The available HCL coins for circulation in the Pre-ICO and ICO period is 79,564,213 coins. Any coins not purchased during the ICO period will be placed in the Treasury.

How will I receive the HCL token after I send my contribution?

A unique address will be generated for both ETH and HCL which you will be using to deposit your investment. Any transaction using the given address will count as your contribution to the project. More details will be made available closer to the Pre-ICO date.

What happens if I do not specify a wallet address?

After a period of 10 days following the ICO closure date, you will be able to add a ETH address to your investor profile in order to withdraw your HCL tokens.

To receive your tokens on your MyEtherwallet.com you need to:

  1. Open your wallet
  2. Find in the bottom right section where you can add a custom token.

The tokens will be redeemable 3 days after the ICO ends.

A guide explaining on how to setup a myetherwallet in order to receive the tokens will be sent to all investors after the end of the ICO on our blog.

What is a soft cap and a hard cap?

A soft cap is the minimum amount we want to raise in our ICO to roll out the services and platforms to facilitate our business model. The soft cap set for HCL is $1 million.

A hard cap is the ideal amount we want to raise. The hard cap set for HCL is $60.5 million.

What happens in the event you are not able to collect the estimated funds?

In the event the the soft cap of $1 million is not achieved, we will continue developing the HCC blockchain platform with any collected ICO proceeds, following our tentative roadmap of operational development.

What do I need to buy HCL?

You will need the following to be able to participate in our Pre-ICO or ICO:

  • A whitelisted account on our portal
  • A verified identity (Driver’s License or Passport)
  • An ETH wallet, where you will receive your HCL tokens
  • Ethereum to invest

When does the Fund officially launch?

The hedge fund will officially launch in July 2018, after the ICO. We expect a possibility of having the fund launch slightly earlier in June 2018.

Can I stake my coins?

Presently we do not plan to allow staking on the HCL coin during the ICO.
In the future, staking options may be available to investors.

What do I get for holding the coin?

Investors who choose to hold the HCL coin will receive a dividend payment based on the profit of Hedge Coin Capital. The profit of Hedge Coin Capital is based on the performance of the funds being managed. We envision that the dividends will be between 15 – 20% p.a.

How often are dividends paid?

Coin holders, not fund investment holders, are eligible for quarterly dividends based on holding time within the quarter.

Can I mine the HCL Coin?

No, HCL tokens cannot be mined.

Will HCC invest in other assets outside of crypto-currencies?

HCC may invest in other assets such as traditional companies, private equity companies and real estate. The future goal is to allow investors to further diversify their assets outside of crypto-currencies and to generate income.

Are there any fees in the ICO?

Purchasing or trading HCL within the Hedge Coin Capital Platform is fee free.

What fees* does Hedge Coin Capital charge clients if they choose to invest in one of the funds?

How can someone own part of the Hedge Fund?

By rolling HCL coins into the fund, investors gain a share of the profits of the fund, allowing them to share in the success and gains of the fund.

Will the investments be fixed in USD or ETH? when will the corresponding rates be struck/updated?

The NAV will be fixed in USD valuation. Ethereum coins are only used for entry and exit to the HCC platform.

What’s the advantage of a diversified hedge fund in the event of a market crash?

HCC has many investment strategies, of which a proportion of the portfolio is not affected by market corrections such as automated trading systems, margin trading, cash held as USD Tether, ICOs and other hedge fund allocations to cash. This diversified system of strategies allows investors to make money in bull and bear cycles as well as protecting against the adverse effects of market crashes.

Can I switch my fund investment choice?

Yes, investors will be able to switch investments within the fund. Investors will be given the option to switch based on your fund investment choice liquidity mandate. For example, if you are currently in the Alpha fund, you may only switch at the end of the week.

What is Hedge Coin Capital’s escrow policy?

Hedge Coin Capital’s founders will be subject to a market escrow period of over 24 months. The market escrow policy of all HCC staff and external advisors will be subject to a 3 – 6 month period before being eligible to sell coins.

How do I exit the fund?

If you choose to exit the fund, your fund units would need to be converted into HCL within our platform, which you can then redeem for other cryptocurrencies. Based on your fund investment choice, you may only liquidate at the end of the week, month, or quarter.

If I want a personalised service, will you help me?

Yes. The minimum requirement investment for this service is $500,000 USD. We will also need to assess your risk profile objectives before we offer this VIP service to any client.

What are external custodial services?

Services that are offered through a governmental body or other licensed intermediary that function as part of the client agreement to safe keep the assets of the investor through relevant market regulations, rules and laws.
